Inspired by kindness
Whilst we are in the midst of a scary and unnerving time, the team have been taking the time to share positive and uplifting things with each other at the beginning of every working day. We thought we’d share our favourite to put a smile on your faces!
Captain Tom Moore, a 99 year old war veteran from Yorkshire, has been doing 10 laps of his garden a day with the help of a walking frame, with an aim to raise money for the NHS.
With his initial £1000 target reached within 24 hours, Tom is still going and has so far raised an incredible amount of over £18 million! Tom’s challenge has gained so much media coverage, and rightly so. He comes across as such a wonderful man, and seems completely overwhelmed by the response to his challenge.
Seemingly like the rest of the nation, we have fallen in love with Tom and his quest to do 100 laps before his 100th birthday. Despite now reaching his 100 laps, Tom has said he’s going to keep going until the donations stop. What a hero!
Who's your hero?
We’ve loved seeing such heart-warming stories like Tom’s break the news, and would love to hear more.
Do you know someone that deserves a thank you for their efforts in the pandemic? Whether they’re working tirelessly for the NHS, boosting community morale or helping friends and neighbours, we’d love to hear from you.
Send over an email to firstname.lastname@example.org explaining who you’d like to nominate & why.
We’ll be sending out one of our bestselling Meteorite necklaces to say thank you to someone extra special. To those of you that are going the extra mile to help others, we appreciate you!
