Matthew Calvin’s Valentines Wishlist

We can’t quite believe that it’s come around so quickly, but it’s that time of year again. Soon, there will be hoards of commuters desperately trying to find that perfect gift on their way home from work – something that’s thoughtful enough to show you care, but without breaking the bank. It’s so easy to fall into the commercial Valentines Day trap of buying your significant other gifts because you feel like you have to – not necessarily because they’d love the product. This Valentines, we’ve put together a selection of our favourite products to make gift giving exciting again. Find out what we’re looking at buying our other halves, but keep it quiet!

1 – Hometown Glory, Sweatshirt £60

Recently, we were approached about a new start-up company, Hometown Glory. We have worked with the founder, Sara, through another venture of her’s, and were so excited to hear about the wonderful new project she’s working on. Supporting homeless shelters nationwide, Hometown Glory’s sweatshirt designs spotlight towns throughout the UK, highlighting creative, British independents who share their values of handcrafted, locally made, FairPlay, sustainable, small and passionate. They have just launched this week, so go and show them some love & support a wonderful cause!

2- Edit Hats, Original Burgundy Beanie £19

@edit_hats – #keepinglondonwarm – #EditLDN

Edit Hats, another great brand supporting homeless charities, have more wonderful gift ideas this Valentines Day. For every hat sold, black beanies are packed up and taken to food-drops where homeless people are offered food, support and often a chance to socialise. Edit’s plan is to expand into new products and new cities, and to always keep donating. Our favourite is the Original Burgundy Beanie, featuring the Edit London logo. They’re ethically made, super soft & finished in London.  For every one sold, another is donated to the homeless, so why not give two gifts this Valentines Day?

3- Stay Sixty, Bonds Stores, Reusable Stainless Steel Water Bottle, Blush £30

@staysixty @bonds.stores

Bonds shops are always a favourite of ours for gift giving – through Bonds, we’ve discovered the brand Stay Sixty. Designed in Hackney, Stay Sixty’s beautifully crafted re-usable water bottles are made from premium stainless steel and coated in rubberised paint to look & feel great in your hand. Designed with extra thoughtful touches such as removable bases and silicone tags, Stay Sixty’s re-usable bottles look great, are practical and great for the environment, too. We’ll have one of every colour, please!

4- Bohemia, Delphi Tote Basket £34

Bohemia are located near the port of Leith, Edinburgh, a bohemian district renowned for it’s thriving community of artisans, designers, writers and musicians. Bohemia was established to build relationships with artisan producers and through these collaborations help to support meaningful employment and ensure the survival of awe- inspiring traditional crafts. It was impossible to pick just one product, so we’re showing you two of our favourite Bohemia purchases!

The Delphi Tote Basket has been on both Georgia and Sophie’s wish lists for a while now… Handwoven by Moroccan artisans using palm leaf fibre, this basket bag is tall and rectangular in shape, making it much more practical than most basket bags. We love it’s simplicity, but Bohemia also offer all customers the option to customise it with their wool tassels or pom pom charms, too!

5- Bohemia, Hanging Baskets £11

Bohemia also create eco-friendly handwoven hanging baskets for your home, and in 4 sizes! Perfect for trailing plants, these planters will definitely be making an appearance in the MC office soon!

6- Rococo Chocolates, Set of 3 Mini Bee Bars £7.95

Valentines Day is alllll about the chocolates, right? Rococo chocolates have been a favourite of ours since we first discovered their Honeycomb bars of chocolate. We’d love to receive their trio of ‘Mini Bee Bars’, gift-ribboned and beautiful. Featuring our favourite Honeycomb flavour, with their Moroccan Mint and Raspberry Fizz flavours too. Delicious!

7- Stelton, To Go Click 0.2L, Matt Lavender £24.95

We’re suckers for sleek, simple designs, and we’re so excited to have discovered Danish brand, Stelton. Their travel coffee cups feature a state-of-the art ‘smart click’ function that lets you open and close the cup easily, and allows you to drink from the full 360 degrees of the cup as if there were no lid. So functional, so aesthetically pleasing. What more could you want from your morning coffee cup?

8- Ren London, Amelia Jumpsuit £95

We couldn’t resist adding this Ren London jumpsuit to our Valentines wishlist – made from handwoven 100% organic cotton & dyed with absolutely no harsh chemicals, this utility style jumpsuit is the perfect day to night outfit, and we think it would look even better styled with some minimalist Matthew Calvin jewellery.

9- Matthew Calvin, Rose Gold Engravable Circle Pendant From £138

Lastly, it wouldn’t be a gift guide without some Matthew Calvin pieces, would it? Our Engravable Pendants are a great option for a Valentines gift. The personalisation option means you can choose to engrave initials, a date or a small message and you can even pick your font, so there truly won’t be another like it in the world.

@m.calvin – #matthewcalvin

We’re known for our Monsteras, and this A3 print is no different… using signature Matthew Calvin colours and with innovative gold foiling, all Matthew Calvin prints are designed, printed and shipped from the UK on the highest grade velvet laminated silk paper.

11- Matthew Calvin, Rose Gold Thin Wire Studs £24

@m.calvin – #matthewcalvin

One of the studio’s bestselling pieces, our Thin Wire Studs are a simple yet elegant addition to your ears. 12- Matthew Calvin, Multi Monstera Greetings Card £2.50
