The Octagon Bolt Ring’s shape, as the name suggests, was inspired by mechanical forms; the angularity and symmetry of machines. The challenge was to create something which married this with the cleanliness and orderliness of Matthew Calvin’s designs, something which was arguably perfected in this eye-catching piece.
Available in Sterling silver, gold and rose gold plate, all with a high-polish finish which further draws the eye to the ring’s clean lines, many edges, and the way in which it catches the light as it turns and moves on a finger. The design is part of the wider Essentials collection -minimalist pieces that can be worn for any occasion.
Dreaming up these beautiful, simple pieces, designer Matthew Calvin was playing with basic shapes for a new range of jewellery, mixing them with quality-made, high-polish materials and finishes to create special yet everyday pieces.
